In order to be considered for Denver Teach Today, applicants must take the PLACE or Praxis II exam in the content area they will be interested in training/teaching.  Official passing scores must be submitted to DTT by email no later than May 15, 2016.  Failure to submit official scores will prevent the applicant to be officially accepted into the program.  Test scores can be submitted after an application deadline.

Which exams should I take? 

  • Elementary Education  applicants must take either the PLACE (elementary education #01) or Praxis II (elementary education content knowledge #5018 (computer-based)
  • Secondary Mathematics applicants must take the PLACE (mathematics #04) or Praxis II (computer-based #5161)
  • Elementary or Secondary Special Education applicants must take either PLACE (elementary education #01) or Praxis II (elementary education content knowledge computer-based #5018). At the end of the first year as teacher of record, Special Education teachers must take the PLACE (Special Education Generalist Exam #20) in order to receive the Colorado Special Education Generalist License.
